Apple to pay $20 million to iPhone 4s owners as part of court settlement
Apple has reached a legal settlement with iPhone 4s owners who have accused the company of deliberately slowing down smartphones. This is reported by MacRumors.
The company’s lawyers agreed with the iPhone 4s users who filed a lawsuit against Apple. As part of the agreement, representatives of the American corporation acknowledged the existence of a problem in popular smartphones and agreed to pay compensation. Apple will allocate $ 20 million for compensation.
«Apple has falsely stated that iOS 9 is compatible with the iPhone 4S and will improve or ‘enhance the performance’ of the devices,» plaintiffs said. The company agreed to pay each user of the smartphone released in 2011 $15. Apple promised to create a site for collecting applications.
